How It Works

How to Install and Set Up

1. Identify left and right pedals — each axle is stamped "L" (left) or "R" (right). Fitting one on the wrong side will cause it to unthread while riding, so double-check before you start.

2. Clean the crank arm threads — wipe the threaded holes with a clean cloth to clear old grease or debris left from the previous pedals.

3. Grease the axle threads — a thin coat of bicycle grease on the threads before fitting helps prevent seizing and makes future removal easier, especially after riding in wet conditions.

4. Start threading by hand — thread each pedal in by hand first to avoid cross-threading. The right pedal uses a standard clockwise thread; the left pedal is reverse (counter-clockwise).

5. Tighten with a pedal wrench or 6mm hex key — use the flats on the axle with a pedal wrench, or a 6mm hex key in the axle end, and tighten evenly and firmly.

6. Check foot position once fitted — stand on the pedals and confirm the ball of your foot lines up over the axle centre, the most efficient and stable spot for pedalling.

Tip: A quick rinse of the platform after muddy rides keeps the pin holes clear and stops hardened debris building up around the bearing seal.

Care and Maintenance

✓ Rinse after wet or muddy rides — clear mud and grit from the platform and pin areas with a low-pressure hose or damp cloth. Avoid pointing high-pressure water directly at the axle seal, which can force water past it.
