The HD multi-coated lenses improve light transmission and reduce glare, which helps in lower light conditions such as dawn or dusk. However, these are not night-vision binoculars and require natural or ambient light to function.
Start by adjusting the barrel width to match your eye spacing until you see a single circular image. Then use the central focus wheel to sharpen the image. Finally, use the diopter ring on the right eyepiece to fine-tune the focus for any difference in vision between your two eyes.
These binoculars are built with shockproof military-grade materials that handle general outdoor conditions. They are not rated as fully waterproof or submersible. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or immersion in water.
Many users with corrective lenses can use binoculars by adjusting the diopter and focus wheel to compensate. If the eyecups are twist-up style, they can be lowered to bring the eyepiece closer for glasses wearers. Check the eyecup design upon receiving the product.
40X magnification means an object 400 metres away will appear as if it is only 10 metres away. This level of magnification is useful for observing distant wildlife or landscape details, but higher magnification also means the image is more sensitive to hand movement, so holding steady or resting on a surface helps.
Use only the included cleaning cloth to wipe the lens surfaces. Avoid paper towels, tissues, or rough fabrics as these can scratch the multi-coated surface. For stubborn smudges, breathe lightly on the lens to create a small amount of moisture before wiping gently.
