Ordinary trainers were never made for the pedals — the soft, bendy sole flexes with every stroke and wastes the power you're putting down, leaving your legs more tired than they should be on longer rides. These cycling shoes fix that with a rigid nylon composite sole that sends your effort straight into the pedal, a rotating BOA-style dial buckle for precise fit adjustments on the move, and a breathable leather upper with ventilation holes on both sides. With mountain (SPD), road (SPD) and flat unlocked sole options, there's a configuration for every kind of riding.

What Makes Them Worth the Upgrade

Three sole options — Mountain (SPD), Highroad (SPD) and Unlocked (flat rubber) — the same shoe body in the sole configuration that matches your pedal setup, so you get the correct grip and clip-in compatibility for how you actually ride.

Rotating BOA-style dial buckle — twist clockwise to tighten in fine micro-steps, pull the dial out to release instantly. No stopping mid-ride to fiddle with laces, and the elastic retraction keeps the cable tidy.

Nylon composite outsole — stiff enough to transfer power to the pedal without flex, yet lighter than a full carbon sole — a sensible balance for daily riding and longer distances alike.

Ventilated leather upper — the one-piece moulded leather upper is dotted with airflow holes on both sides, letting air circulate around the foot so things don't overheat mid-ride.

EVA cushioned insole — a comfortable, supportive base for hours in the saddle without piling on weight.

Soft cotton lining — sits gently against the foot for all-day comfort.

True-to-size, medium width (B/M) — confirmed true to size across the EU 37–47 range, with a foot-length chart below so you can measure and order with confidence.

Which Sole Suits Your Riding

The mountain (SPD) sole is built for off-road and trail riding — the recessed cleat sits inside the sole, so you can walk about at the café stop or push up a muddy climb without the cleat scraping the ground. The highroad (SPD) sole suits road cycling and spin classes where maximum power transfer is the goal. The unlocked flat rubber sole covers casual riding and commuting on standard pedals with no clip-in system at all. Whichever you choose, all three share the same upper, dial buckle and breathable construction.

How the Dial Buckle Works

A thin internal cable threads through guides around the upper of the shoe. Turning the dial clockwise winds the cable in, tightening the whole upper evenly across the width of your foot — and because the adjustments are tiny ratchet steps, you can fine-tune the fit whilst riding without stopping or taking the shoe off. To release, just pull the dial outwards: the ratchet disengages, the cable goes slack and the shoe opens fully. The elastic retraction system stops the cable bunching up inside when the shoe is open.

Care and Maintenance

Wipe the upper down with a damp cloth after each ride to shift dirt and sweat — especially after wet British lanes. Let the shoes air dry fully before putting them away, and never dry them next to a radiator or heater: direct heat can warp the sole and damage the dial buckle cable. Store them with the buckle released to take tension off the internal cable, and clean the sole now and then so cleat engagement stays crisp.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Mountain, Highroad, and Unlocked sole options?
The Mountain sole has a recessed SPD cleat mount for off-road and trail riding, allowing you to walk without the cleat touching the ground. The Highroad sole has an SPD road cleat mount for maximum power transfer on road bikes and spin bikes. The Unlocked flat rubber sole has no cleat mount and is suitable for casual cycling, commuting, and flat pedals.
How does the rotating dial buckle work?
Rotate the dial clockwise to tighten the upper evenly around the foot. Pull the dial outward to release and open the shoe fully. Micro-adjustments can be made while riding without stopping. The elastic retraction system keeps the internal cable tidy when the shoe is open.
Do these shoes run true to size?
Yes — these shoes are confirmed true to size across EU 37–47. Measure your bare foot from heel to longest toe and match to the size chart on this page. For wide feet, consider sizing up by one.
Are cleats included?
No — cleats are not included. The Mountain and Highroad sole variants are compatible with standard SPD cleats, which are purchased separately and match your pedal system.
Are these suitable for indoor spin or Peloton bikes?
The Highroad SPD sole option is compatible with spin and road bike pedal systems that accept SPD cleats. Check your bike’s pedal cleat type before selecting a sole option.
What colours and sizes are available?
Available in Black, White, and Red. Sizes run EU 37–47 across all three colours.
